Aunt La La's Graduation festivities

Katelynn finally made it to 6 weeks, so it was time to share her with the world! Her first major event was Aunt La La's graduation party! Katelynn got to meet the rest of her family and lots of new friends! Then it was off to graduation to support Aunt La La! What an exciting week for Katelynn!

Our First Mother's Day

I have waited 30 years to be a mother on Mother's Day! What a great feeling it was to celebrate my first Mother's Day! We spent the morning lounging around at home and the afternoon celebrating with my mom and family. We are so lucky to have this sweet addition to our family!

1 Month Old!

I can't believe we all made it through the first month! Our little "preemie" is growing like a weed! At her one month checkup Katelynn weighed 9 lbs. 3 oz. and was 21 inches long! She has grown and changed so much already! Can't wait to see what the next month brings...

The first grandkid!

Katelynn is the first grandchild on my side of the family! That is so exciting! Great Grandpa and Great Grandma drove all of the way from Alabama to meet our sweet angel. What a lucky little girl!

Welcome to Katelynn's blog! I have created this blog to share Katelynn's journey with all of her family and friends.

Katelynn decided that she was ready to get out of mommy and enter this world! She surprised us almost 4 weeks early on April 9, 2013 at 6:40 p.m. (even though it took her 24 hours to finally make her entrance!). The doctors had been telling us for weeks that we should be expecting a 9-10 lb. baby at full term...well thank goodness Katelynn only weighed 6 lbs. 11 oz. and was 19 3/4 in. long! Grandpa and Nana Jolley spent the day at the hospital keeping us company waiting for Katelynn and Nana Layman and Aunt LaLa had to drive all the way back from Myrtle Beach and made it there just in the nick of time! Uncle Matthew, Uncle Chris, and Aunt Cortney were all there waiting too! Finally Katelynn made her entrance! It was love at first sight...Matt and I couldn't believe that we had made such a beautiful baby girl. We are so blessed!
